Objectives of our Association
• To strengthen positive character formation,
values, and the development of Puerto Rican
talent.
• Use music as a means to reach children and
adolescents at risk in order to combat poverty
and social exclusion.
• To promote musical, cultural, and social
education.
• Disseminate the musical and cultural legacy of
the Honorable Ernesto Ramos Antonini,
creator of the Escuelas Libres de Música de
Puerto Rico (Free Schools of Music).
Objectives of our Educational Projects
The "Support Network for Children and Young Musicians" is a program that APAOSS developed and has implemented continually since 2004:
Educational Travel
Participation abroad in festivals and competitions where they may obtain evaluations and awards.
Travel within Puerto Rico - participation in inter-school Music Festivals on the island.
Workshops and/or Master Classes
Aimed at students interested in improving the interpretive quality of their instruments.
Students become acquainted with workshop and class teachers and the positions to which effort and dedication lead (modeling).
Ricardo Morales Sáez Scholarship (BRMS)
Aimed at young people intending to continue their musical studies.
This scholarship provides participants with necessary tools for their musical development.
Free Community Concerts
Help students understand social responsibility as individuals through performing in free concerts.
"Tocar y Soñar" (Play and Dream): Concert for the Winners of the Ricardo Morales Sáez Scholarship.
Summer Program: Student Concert, Faculty Concert, Summer String Workshop Concert, Closing Concert.
“Concierto Homenaje:” Annual Concert commemorating the birth of the Hon. Ernesto Ramos Antonini.
Self-Management Educational Musical Program: APAOSS Symphonic Points (PSA)
Provides opportunities and resources for the training of young enterprising musicians through the insertion into a socio-labor student program.
Commissioning of Music Works
By commissioning a new piece each year, we are creating a legacy of music for the future.
Acquisition of Materials and Equipment
Sheet music, materials, instruments and equipment necessary for the optimum operation of the projects will be purchased.
